Elisabetta Franchi Onlus Foundation

Starting from joining the FUR FREE RETAIL PROGRAM of the LAV (one of the most important Italian associations in defense of animals), which between 2012 and 2013 marked the elimination of animal fur from its collections, followed by that of feather goose and angora wool, Elisabetta Franchi has embarked on an increasingly ambitious path aimed at safeguarding this category, as also demonstrated by the construction and financing of the Island Dog Village EF, an oasis of salvation and reception center in the North of China for the dogs subjected to the savagery of the Yulin Festival.
These activities, together with the other initiatives already undertaken, will today be supported and carried forward through the Elisabetta Franchi Foundation, which sees as its main objective, by the end of 2019, the construction of an animal shelter in Forlì, with the function of welcoming street dogs from precarious or mistreated conditions, giving them a home, care and subsequently a family.

Among the other missions of the non-profit organization, the expansion of its work in Asia, to continue to combat the phenomenon of the Dog Meat Trade, and also in Southern Italy, where aid will be guaranteed to support shelters in difficulty.
The Foundation will also support the many kennels lacking basic necessities and all the volunteers who save thousands of dogs from certain death from the street every day. "We don't need to wear a fur coat for our vanity", remains the motto at the base of the designer's numerous charity projects, which marry with the company's internal philosophy, which through joining the DOG HOSPITALITY project in 2013, is became the first company in Italy to open its doors to employees' pets, who will thus be able to bring their four-legged friends with them to the office, improving the working atmosphere and productivity. The Elisabetta Franchi Foundation has also been recognized as an ONLUS.
